Ernest Oliver Lyseng was born on July 18, 1904. He was the youngest son of Erick and Berit Lyseng.
He attended school and later farmed with his brother Martin.

In the fall of 1927, Ernest sold his share of the home place to Martin. Then with his cousin Robert Lyseng,
spent the winter in Vancouver, BC. In the spring of 1928, Ernest moved to Grimshaw and became a partner
in a Hardware storewith Frank Donis.

This partnership lasted over thirty years until the store burned down in 1958. Ernest then became the manager
of a newly opened branch of Union Tractor. Lila moved to Grimshaw in 1929 with her family, where her father
owned the General Store. Ernest and Lila were married in 1933. Their son Donald was born in 1938. They also
had a daughter named Beth.

Ernest passed away very suddenly in 1963 and is buried in the Grimshaw Cemetery. He is well remembered in
Grimshaw as a builder of the town. He served on the town council and spent many hours working on the arena
and curling rink. Lila passed away in 1999.
