Edward K. Lyseng Biography

Edward K. Lyseng (1889-1951) was born in Clinton, Minnesota and immigrated with
Knut and Anne in 1902, and as soon as he was old enough he took a homestead near
what is now known as Armena, and later he moved closer to his parent's farm, where
he lived until his passing in 1951.

In 1910, he married Mina Lomnes (1891-1956), sister of Bert Lomnes and daughter
of Halsten Lomnes, who had emigrated from North Dakota in 1894. They went through
some hardships while building homes, school and church, besides proving up their home-
steads, getting land broken up, and developing herds of cattle. Edward also drilled wells
and cleaned wells in the surounding districts.

Edward and Mina had six children: Adline Moe, Helen Torneby, Evelyn Sware, Vernon,
Orin and Phylis Nicholson. Orin died in 1936, from a ruptured appendix.
