Nils came with his parents, Knut K., and Anne, and his uncles Albert and Erick and Olaf Pederson to
the North West Territories from Clinton, Minnesota. They travelled by train to Wetaskiwin.

They brought some stock along and Nils and Olaf were left to care for the animals that winter. Albert,
Erick and Knut K. bought land and took homesteads for themselves and their sons who were old enough.
They then went back to Clinton, and returned with their families in the spring of 1902.

Nils and Oline were married on June 11, 1903, following a regular service at Skandia Lutheran Church.
Nils and Oline maintained an active and supporting membership in the Skandia Lutheran Church with
their three children, Kenneth, Algar and Norman being baptized and confirmed there also. Oline passed
away at the age of 68 years in 1951, and Nils at the age of 85 years in 1966.
