 Joseph Nels Lyseng was born on 22 January 1916 at Sisseton, Roberts, South Dakota,
USA. He was the son of Nels K. Lyseng and Julia Bjerke.

Joseph Nels Lyseng married Violet Salome Rasmussen, daughter of Chris Rasmussen,
on 4 September 1939 at Medicine Lake, Sheridan, Montana, USA. He farmed in Montana,
but couldn't make a go of it - and ended up working for the city of Froid doing road construction.

Joseph Nels Lyseng died on 14 September 1970 at Froid, Rosevelt, Montana, USA, 59226,
at age 54. He died as a result of thickening of his blood - per telephone conversation with
Edwin Lyseng on February 9, 2004 with Paul Lund.

Joseph had four children: Yvonne Joyce Lyseng, Gene Matthew Lyseng, Jerome Joseph Lyseng
and Judith Elaine Lyseng.
