Nils K. Lyseng passed away at his home in One Road township on November 24th, 1926.
Death was due to heart failure. About a year and a half ago he was very sick with pneumonia,
which left him in a weakened condition, but due to his faithful and ambitious nature he tried
to tend to his many duties around home until about two weeks before his death he was taken
with a heart attack, which nearly ended his life, but he seemed to improve again and his family
thought he would recover when he again was taken with an attack which suddenly ended his life.
Peacefully he passed away to the Heavenly Home as Nels was a faithful Christian.

Nels Lyseng was born March 15, 1873, in Norway. Received common and high school education
there and came to Clinton, Minnesota in 1892. Later he moved to One Road township S.D. where
he lived until his death. He leaves to mourn his early departure his wife, four children, his aged
mother, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held at Bethel church, of which he was a member. Rev. Gjerde spoke of
his Christian life and active work in the church and Mr. T. Hovland, one of Nels Lyseng's best
friends, spoke of his work in the Sunday school and for the young folks. A beautiful wreath of
flowers was placed on his casket from Bethel congregation. Those acting as pall bearers were
Thomas Hovland, A. E. Svalstad, Ole Benson, A. W. Chell, John Hovland and John Jordahl.
His work is now ended
He is at rest
The parting was painful
But God knows best.
