Carl was the eldest son of Albert and Ragnild. He was born in 1886 and died in 1954.

Carl came up to Canada with his father and family in 1902. His mother, Ragnild, passed
away in Minnesota before they left. In 1907, Carl purchased a quarter section and he and
his brother Edwin each purchased 80 acres of an adjoining quarter.

Carrie was active in the community, boarded the teacher and was the president of the Scandia
Ladies Aide at the time of her death in 1926 at the age of thirty-seven and one-half years.

She and her sister-in-law Mary Pederson owned a loom together on which many yards of rag
rugs were woven. Carl and Carrie had a knitting machine and Carl knit many stocking lengths
for the family and others.

Carl was the secretary treasurer for the Lyseng School for many years. He maintained several
miles of road after rains using four horses on the maintainer. This took ten to twelve hours.
He looked after the Pound for stray animals. He and his brothers did many family and neigh-
bourhood projects such as threshing, haying, wood sawing and butchering.

Carl enjoyed baseball. He often refereed at basketball games for the school.

Grandmother Rosendahl made her home with Carl and Carrie for years.

A couple of years after Carrie's death, Carl and his daughters moved to Camrose where he
worked at the Pioneer Garage, until his retirement.

Grandpa Albert Lyseng spent his last years in Camrose with Carl and family.

After he retired, Carl lived with his daughter Mabel and her husband, Russel Roose.
Carl died in 1954.
