Edwin was born in 1889 and died in 1977. Edwin came to Alberta from Minnesota with his
father Albert in 1902.
As a young man, he took a homestead near Wilhelmina Church and lived there a short time.
In 1916, Edwin
married Nettie Ditmanson (1898-1921) and they set up farming on a quarter
just east of his father's land.
Edwin and Nettie had one daughter, Esther born in 1917. After Nettie passed away, Edwin
rented his land,
but was always around at thrashing time to help operate the tractor and
separator which he shared with his
brothers Carl and Emil.
Edwin worked for a while at Pioneer Garage. It was at this time that Edwin met the
former
Rosie Skogman and they were married in 1929 and tried farming. After a few years, Edwin
and
Rosie rented out the farm again and bought a smaller farm near Winfield.
As the years went by - they
needed to be nearer to doctors and moved to Edmonton. Edwin
did carpentry work in Winfield and Edmonton.
Rosie passed away in 1952, and is buried in
Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Edwin then returned to Camrose.
