Although my parents had bought land (from Carl Anderson Sr. ) and had established a home in Canada as early as 1908, I was born at Brookings, South Dakota in January, 1910. This was during a brief stay back in the United States.

I grew up in Canada and in August 17, 1939 I married Hazel Lyseng (B. April 1912) the second daughter of Carl and Ragna Lyseng of Armena.

We moved to Olympia, Washington in 1940 and I worked at carpentry until World War Il. I then served in the United States Navy until the fall of 1945. The last thirty-five years I have been doing contracting, owning my own business. We are now retired.

Our son Merle was born in Februarv 21, 1950 in Tacoma, Wæshington and at present owns a motorcycle repair and parts business in Olympia. He is single.
