Kenneth worked on the farm for a time then held
employment at the Exshaw Cement Factory near
Cochrane for four years, until it was closed, One
winter during the depression Kenneth worked for his
uncle, Robert Lyseng at Armena for $10 a month.
Here he met Bernice Lomnes. In 1938 they were
married and lived for a short time at Donalda where
Kenneth was farming near the Ibsen School and
where their first child Norris was born.
In 1943
moved to Armena, to a farm north of the Lomnes
home where they lived until 1947. During that time
two more boys were born, Merril and Lorne. They
then moved to Camrose where they have since lived.
Kenneth was active in Scouting for many years and
was also a member of the Camrose School Board, until he became custodian at the Composite High
School. Later on two lovely little daughters
were born to Kenneth and Bernice - Brenda and Beverly.
The family were all actively involved in the activities of Messiah Lutheran Church.
Later on Kenneth became a car-salesman for Central Garage, and after the children were grown
Bernice worked part time at Bethany Home.
After retirement, Kenneth was in ill health for a time and
passed away in the fall of 1981.
Norris married Charlotte Carlson and they have a
son Eric. Norris is a distribution manager for
General Motors of Canada and lives in Winnipeg.
Merril and his wife Colleen and two sons Connell
and Theodore live in Calgary. Merril is a medical
doctor and is the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization
Labratory at the Foothills Hospital. He is also Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of
Calgary.
Loren is also in Calgary and is a Recreation Director with the City of Calgary.
Brenda married
Robert Hanoski in 1979. Brenda is employed at Bethany Auxiliary Hospital and Rob works with the Continental Bank.
Beverly lives in Edmonton where she is
an operator with the Canadian National Railway. |
