Marg was born in Harlem, Montana to Iver and Matilda Lyseng –
the first of four children. The family moved to Portland in 1942.
In 1958, Marg graduated from Franklin High School. She lived
most of her adult years in Milwaukie, Ore.
After graduation she was the secretary to Mayor Terry Schrunk.
Following her work at City Hall she worked for four Presidents
at Portland State University until her retirement.
Marg was a long time member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in
SE Portland where she was a greeter and participated in travel and
quilting groups, to name a few.
She was a kind person who enjoyed many things: travel, sewing,
crafting, baking, butterflies, trips to the casino, chocolate, bowling,
lunching with friends, water aerobics, hanging out with family, and
working in her yard.
Marg is survived by her sisters, Marion Schmidt, Donna Koch (Roy);
brother Roger Lyseng (Lori); nieces Stephanie Shuler (Jason) and
Connie Crawford (Kyle); and nephews Jay Minsker (Kim) and Nathan
Koch (Katie) as well as several grandnieces and nephews.
Marg’s family would like to express their thanks to Sheri Davis, her
caregiver and friend over the past three years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
