A touching tribute to Iver Lyseng from a fishing friend . . .

MY BUDDY PASSED AWAY LAST NIGHT

A great buddy of mine passed away last night. Iver Lyseng turned 90 back in January.
He and I fished together many many times over the years. In fact, he showed me the
ropes of the Columbia River bar.

He was very sprie and active until early last summer when congestive heart failure set in.
90 years is a long and good life. No complaining from him, just part of old age he said.

My kids loved Iver and he loved them too.  His family had been taking care of him since
December and worked with him 24/7 caring for him. They did not put him in a home
because that is just not their way. Iver died in his home last night with his family around
him.

Kind of funny. My Dad, now age 62, ran around with Iver in the 50's. In fact, I have owned
Iver's 59 Ford Fairlane 500 since 1982. I love that old car. He called it "the grocery car" since
that is what his wife used it for before she succombed to Alzheimers.

Sure hope there are Chinnook in Heaven. Iver loved them big dogs and lived for bouy 10
and ocean fishing. Thanks Iver for many great years of friendship.

She was a kind person who enjoyed many things: travel, sewing,

lunching with friends, water aerobics, hanging out with family, and
working in her yard.
