In 1888, Hendrick (Henry) Hendrickson married Mathea Lyseng. In the spring of 1902, they decided to move
along with the Lysengs to the North West Territories. The closest train station to the Camrose-Armena area
was Wetaskiwin.

Mathea with her seven children travelled in a private railroad car with her three brothers: Albert, Erick and Knut
and their families - while Henry rode the freight to tend to the livestock. In North Dakota, close to the Canadian
border, two men entrered his car with revolvers, demanding his money and valuables.

He was slugged unconscious and gagged and bound. When he came to, his helper, who was tending the cattle in
the other car, came for supper and untied him. This was a setback for the Hendricksons because they had sold their
house in South Dakota for cash.

Hendrick was born on January 18, 1862 and passed away on June 21, 1937.
Mathea was born on October 14, 1870 and passed away on November 12, 1951.
